Today, I woke up at 5:30 and made the half hour drive to work only to find out that it was my day off. After finally getting back home and into bed, my boss called, requesting that I come back to work since I was "already up". FML

Today, it was the first day of fall break from college, and I was really excited to sleep in and relax the entire weekend. Apparently my boss caught wind of my happiness and scheduled me 8am-2pm each day of break, "seeing how I don't have anything else to do." FML

Today, I wasn't sure if I would have to go to work. My mom told me the night before that she would wake me up if I had to. I woke up, and seeing that it was past the time I normally go to work, I happily assumed I got called off. That is, until I got a phone call from my boss asking me why I wasn't there yet. FML

However, as soon as I was on the couch to Netflix and chill with my cat, I got a call from my boss saying I was needed at the office to fix a major issue. I ended up spending the entire day at work and didn't get to enjoy my "day off." FML

Today, I was enjoying my first vacation day in 2 years. My boss then called me to come in, saying it was an emergency. I got to work and got fired. Yes, my boss made me come in just to fire me. FML

Today, after having been off due to the holidays, I awoke to several missed calls and texts from my supervisor asking where I was. Fearing losing my job, I drove the entire 2-hour commute thinking I’d missed a day. I hadn't; he was just trying to get my weekly reports early. FML

Today, I worked 24 hours straight fixing my company's servers. After it was over, I breathed a huge sigh of relief and promptly fell asleep at my desk. My boss found me an hour later, refused to listen to me, and fired me for sleeping on the job. FML

Today, my boss told me that my attitude to work is awesome and that he'd follow my example of coming in half-an-hour early every day from now on. I relish those 30 minutes as the only time I can get work done without him constantly interrupting me. So much for that. FML

FYL. Both my mother and I have trouble sleeping sometimes, and anything that wakes us up can end up keeping us awake for hours. I'm always pissed off when the phone rings, or there's work going on outside, neighbors are noisy, and that doesn't help me get to sleep either. A lot of the commenters here are such whiny bitches. If none of the FML's are really FML's and if the site really sucks that much than don't come on here anymore. Half of you only comment to say "that's not an FML," and that's all you ever say. You are now officially trolls. And for those of you saying to turn your home phone off that's a bad idea. Turn your cell phones off, but you should always have your regular phone on in case of emergencies.

Sorry, but I have to back up the minority of the responses with: Just wait a moment. He may view you as a very good employee, and wants you to remember that you have that day off. He might have been worried you had forgotten since, as you said, you haven't gotten a day off in a long time. He's trying to be nice, but did it at an inopportune moment. You still had the day off, anyway.
