No respect

Today, I was excited to finally take a day off work and relax at home. However, as soon as I was on the couch to Netflix and chill with my cat, I got a call from my boss saying I was needed at the office to fix a major issue. I ended up spending the entire day at work and didn't get to enjoy my "day off." FML

This is why I never answer the phone when work calls after I leave work. On my day off, I never answer the phone if it’s work calling.

I sincerely hope you at least demanded that day off back from your boss, because otherwise you pretty much paid them to work.

I would ask for a different day off this week. they have multiple people in one department for a reason. if they are relying on you and your skills alone, time to see if you can acquire a promotion or leave you the hell alone on your given you day
