Today, I found a great parking spot but I wasn't sure if it was restricted by any means or of I could just park there for free. I asked a police officer walking by and he told me it was alright, only to come back 4 hours later to find a ticket on my windshield. FML

The cop meant it was alright for him -- you helped him with his quota!

Well played, Occifer. Should have known it was a trap it's 2016 haha

You actually expected a police officer to help you!?? In 2016!?? lol ydi, he may have helped you back on 1984 but not now. Now all police just want to ticket/arrest anyone and they don't care if they're innocent or not.

You can plead not guilty in traffic court. That way you can question him under oath. And chances are, you will have the ticket rescinded.

Yeah, because a cop will always tell the truth when under oath. You need witnesses for that, otherwise he will just deny the whole thing and you are scr*wed.

Learn the rules!! so that next time when you get into a similar situation don't have to ask anyone.

Cops are not your lawyer. While most are good people, some are not required to be honest answering questions like that, and they won't. Sorry to hear you got screwed.

Oh no no no court battle here I'd come

As if news reports and the media itself hasn't made it clear that some officers can't be trusted enough. Now it's on FML to be official
