Today, I went to my girlfriend's house to break up with her. It was a hard decision and both of us became quite emotionally overwhelmed at the time. We began to hug as a final goodbye, then her mum burst in the room and yelled, "HE FINALLY PROPOSED!" FML

I used to have a manipulative ex like that. When she couldn't outsmart me she turned to pure desperation. No matter what I did she always had a way of crawling back into my life. She crashed her car, swallowed pinesol and went to the hospital, etc. After years it got to the point where for my own health, I no longer cared if she lived or died. Apathy is a dangerous place for a relationship and if you don't want to be with her but are now stuck, you'll be in that place too. Save yourself and her and end it. Things will get worse! Girls have been getting pregnant to keep a man around since the bible days. Send a text message saying it's over, turn off your phone for a week and then change your number, delete your email, block her on facebook, even get a restraining order if need be, but please end the relationship. You are stronger than this! You will be so much happier!

to those bitching at us calling him spineless (no balls, a pussy, whatever).... it has nothing to do with masculinity, and I'd say the same thing to a woman. the stupidest thing you could do is become more attached, more involved in her life. I don't care how manipulative or conniving someone is... if you really want out, truly want to cut ties, when it comes down to a situation like this you should be able to have a little conviction and just do it. you don't have to be an ass about it, but firm, consistent, and unwavering (and yes, I have experience with this). do whatever you have to do... just do it!
