You never know. He could get loose and cause unspeakable havock.
That totally sucks, but a fishtank could cause damage if it leaks. Talk to your landlord, you might ne able to work out a deal so you don't have to move out.
Apparently you never heard about that guy that took a goldfish to the knee.. Wasn't pretty..

Well of course! Everyone knows how destructive those damn goldfish are!!! I mean swimming around in a little bowl and all, god only knows what havoc might erupt!
The reason is if something happens to fish tank the electrical/ water damage however this is assuming a tank and not a bowl.

I'd take them to court...seriously. Unless the lease specifically states no pets of ANY kind (uncaged or not) they can't evict you for that. I had the same problem for my 2 oscars and a betta and i won the case
