Boo ******* hoo, some guy took his own hard earned money and paid for something they care about's health instead of listening to some dumb **** on the internet and giving it to charity. What about people who spend hundreds of thousands more to buy a bigger house, even though they don't really a house that big? Shouldn't they have given their money to charity? What about billionaires who spend their money on playboy bunny slaves? How many little African kids would you save if he gave all his money to charity? Face it you dumb *****, giving your money to charity is an option, stop making it seem like this guy was obligated to do it just because he spent money on his dog. You know what else people do? They spend loads of money buying food for their dogs! And pfft, we ALL know dogs don't need food! They should have spend that money on some poor kids in Africa with AIDS to let them live a few more days even though they're already on death row because no amount of money even in your stupid ******* idealistic bubble could save them all. Grow the **** up.

Now I think this is a true FML to the extreme....it's not funny at all, but your life is definitely ******. I'm sorry for your loss. And **** all of the trolls who clicked YDI. =(

Comment moderated for rule-breaking.

Show it anyway

It's liek, well yeah terrible your dog died, because I've been through that three times, but really, you should have put him down.

For everyone saying YDI for spending that much money on a dog your all acting like a dog is just a machine that you can easily buy a new one. A dog is much different. You care for a dog and love it as a family member. Buying a newone like nothing isn't easy. Your pretty much saying that if a mom or close relative had cancer just let them die and don't spend the money. DOGS ARE PART OF THE FAMILY!

Yes, but dog's also live only about 15 years. Old dogs are the ones that usually get cancer, and that money could have been given to charity to save some person's life.

Hahaha Anthony is a prime example of where people in this world have gone wrong. I know you did NOT just compare a dog's life to someone's mothers life. Are you really that disconnected from reality that you think a dog's life even begins to compare to that of another human beings?? I'm all for trying to save a dog and if 15,000 dollars is within your price range to save an animal then good for you! but don't ever ******* confuse a dog's life to that of a family member.

@113 Hmm, piss away $15k on some person you don't know, or try to help your own pet... My dog > some charity case.

When that "random person" is your child that could have been saved by someone donating 15k to a research fund to help cure some disease, it matters.

HA HA HA your lil bitch dog "muffy" got owned. QQ who gives a ****. Be a real man next time and get a lion. Nobody ***** with a lion.

Never do that again. Next time you get a dog, put it down if it gets cancer or some other serious illness. YDI.

well then i hope "an animal" bites your toe off

Don't dogs get to have health insurance?

RustyShackelfurt 0

Wow, what a thoughtful, eloquent, well put together little rant. You sir, are a douche.

I can kind of relate to this person. A few years ago I had a cat that my mum and dad paid a couple of grand to try and save its life - it had fluid around its heart or something and we spent a fair bit trying to save him but eventually put him down... I can relate... I personally wouldn't spend 15k on a pet, maximum I'd spend is$800, but animals can be considered part of the family... FYL, but you also kind of deserve it for spending that much.

You're a douchebag. An animal is still a life, you damn idiot. Karma will give you cancer and I doubt anyone cares enough for your stupid ass to pay for your treatments.

the_walrus 0

ah yes an intelligent person, dogs often get cancer, vets are in it for money and take you for a ride and I reckon 15ks worth of treatment would have been hell for the dog. Man up, have the dog put down. you should have expected to see it die when you bought it.

If you think someone you don't even know's life is more important than you're dogs, you've obviously never had one. A dog is pure unconditional love, and humans (me being one of them) are assholes. A dog has never done anything to deserve any kind of punishment, in my opinion they are a higher species than we are. At least they know what's what.

NoelleVague 0

Agreedsies. Everyone's a hypocrite saying it's ****** that he's spending money on his dog. Especially those in America, or any 1st world country for that matter. Like they don't have tons of shit they don't need but are attached to and spend money on keeping top notch.

@252: yes, animals are alive. so is the grass you step on, the germs that infect you, and the lions that eat you. there's a decent chance that if the OP had died, his dog would have eaten him to survive

why the **** would you spen 15k on a dog?! what the hell! you couldve used it better than the dog. YDI for wating that much. but i do feel sorry about the dog. but still, you're stupid.

"You deserved it for loving your dog." You people are ******* assholes.

Yeah screw starving children, let's save your ******* dog.

Yes, 344, I bet you've spent a ton of your hard-earned cash helping starving children. I bet you'd give up your house and car and things you've worked really hard for and care a lot about, just to get those kids some food. If you're that selfless, infinite kudos to you! If not, keep your mouth shut.

It ******* pisses me off when people say animals' lives aren't as important as ours

heythisisme02 9

Same here!! My animals (no offense) mean more to me than a charity case. Cause I don't know that so sorry!!

FireFlie07 20

You should have let him pass peacefully instead of putting him through all of that suffering.

spiffles 0

I'm inclined to agree...I know OP wanted the dog to be healthy, but at a certain point it's a bit ineffective.

I can't argue with that. People die when they're ready to. If I got cancer, I'd want to go down when my time came. Same with life-extending machines and crap. I would NOT want to be a vegetable, EVER. Pull the plug, plzkthx. But I suppose what I think and what others think is quite different.. but really OP, that sucks mega balls, you must've had an insane bond with that puppeh. :( I is sorry.

I agree. I work as vet tech and I see all the unnecessary suffering that grief stricken owners put their animals through. Cancer and kidney failure are two things that Really should not be treated. The treatments may prolong the life of the animal, but only for as long as they are being poked, injected and feeling most unhappy at the vets office. For cancer most of the outcomes do not even prolong the life. It's really no way to treat a beloved family member. All that results is a few unhappy days of the animal wishing to die and a severe drain on the owners wallet.

y r u complaining...at least u had a dog...n at least u can say u did all u could for him!! he would of loved u ne way... just remember the good times...r they not worth more than all the money u could spend?

I really have to laugh at this. Not at the FML, but at this "1st" idiot. You people spend all your time aspiring to have the first comment on an FML; wow, you people really aim low. Let me tell you something, if you're trying to be first, you can either make a meaningful comment, or exclaim "1st". If you try both, you will experience what happened here, and some troll will post their ridiculous "1st" bullshit while you're typing. I, personally, would not spend $15,000 to treat the cancer of any of my relatives, be they canine or my own grandmother. I understand that life and the universe are utterly meaningless, so I intend to live my life exclusively for myself with the goal of having the most endorphins running through my system as possible.

KaylieBieber13 0

i certainly would cuz right now cancer has killed six close family members INCLUDING my own grandmother! i spent alot of money trying to help because i care for people unlike you!

ohJeeznotme 7

I've been through something similar. It sucks.

**** the dogs life for suffering

Why so many YDI's the dude lost his dog and 15grand out of love and you heartless losers have the gall to say he deserves it? Hope you deserve the next thing that comes to you people all 14k+ of you...

wow you can litterally buy a completely new dog with even half of that money... even 1/3 of that you could have gotten a new dog too :O

I'm pretty sure you could have gotten at least 15 more dogs, too!

that's not the point. a pet is like a family member. you don't just **** it and get a new one asshole

I would and no they arn't family members, they are dogs. where I live you can get 75 dogs for that price. this guys an idiot. for me if the question was 15000 or a new dog, the only question is which gun you use to shoot the old one while it eats a steak.

#340 Pets like dogs can be exactly like family members u stupid twat. I hope u get shot while ur eating those dicks u love so much asshole

Idiot. Dogs aren't something to be replaced. They are a part of your family

oh yeah, my grandmother just died of cancer. Can I get a new one?

it amazea me how stupid people can be when it comes to their pets. A pet is just an animal its not your brother and it can be replaced because all dogs are the same.

All dogs are the same? You sir are unbelievable. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

That sucks, Sorry too hear about your dog. :/

YDI for spending so much on treating your dog. That amount of money could have saved many starving people, or sent a kid to college for a year, or gotten someone out of medical debt.

Hurry, cancel your internet and go buy them some food! Hurry up one is dying RIGHT NOW OMG YOU MONSTER TOO LATE NOW 18731831289 KIDS JUST DIED AND ITS ALL YUOR FAULT

Well sorry that this person loves their pet and wanted to do what they could to keep them alive. I would`ve done the same if there was a chance for survival. For lots of people their pets become basically as close as a family member and consider them as such.

firebirdforever 0

OMG, OMG, the KIDS, the KIDS. STFU up about the kids. Animals count too. There are SO many charities designated for the CHILDRENS, but how many are their for animals? Seriously?

MeMeMe123455 0

hahahahahha lolwatlol I love you

ChrissyRawr 0

I find people talking about starving children and saying that the money should go to them really funny... I doubt you send every bit of your ******* food to the starving children.

Dmb15freeweezy 0

it's cuz people are more important then an animal b

I am with you. but you don't have to justify not spending 15000 on a dog. that's four new rifles with scopes for gods sakes! or 75 new dogs. bullets work faster than cancer therapy and with 15000 find a dog that looks like the old one.

thecookielovrxx 8

Hmm.... What if it were someone you loved? Douchebag.

and the money you spent on your computer/phone could have bought a starving person food

Without trying to sounds de-sensitized, why would you A: Spend that much money on a dog, when you could have probably used it for something to benefit the human side of your family, and B: put your dog through cancer treatment. It would seem somewhat cruel to be selfish and not him/her just die...

That was my thought. I mean I get that some people love their dog, but $15.000 dollars? that's just kind of dumb. You could have bought a BRAND NEW car with that. On another note, how would the vet doctors not notice a problem with the kidneys during all that cancer treatment? Unless they can just fail randomly, which would suck.

Why not spend that much on a dog? Why do humans deserve that money more than dogs do? If you loved your dog, money is nothing compared to it's life.

Because dogs, unfortunately, can't really live much longer past 15 years. And i'm guessing that this wasn't a puppy and was probably at least 10 years old. And a lot of dogs get sick when they get old and go through a lot of pain (like cancer) and so sometimes it's just better to put one down. yes they can be like family, but 15 grand is a LOT of money to spend to attempt to keep it alive. All the while it's suffering through the pain. It's not so much saying that the dog isn't "worth it" to keep alive, but there are things you need to let go of. Now of course I'm assuming a little here, we don't know how old the dog was, or anything about the cancer. For all we know it was a 1 year old puppy and the doctor said that there was a 99.99999% chance of survival.

Kidney's *can* fail "randomly". It's called acute renal failure.

jmangold96 0

um going through cancer is can be painful. maybe that is why they paid for the treatment.

ahh. deeply sorry to hear that. **** the person who clicked on "ydi".
