Thanks, Stephen King

Today, on Facebook, I mentioned that I'd just finished reading the novel Pet Sematary. Two hours later, I'd lost two friends and my boyfriend, after they commented "learn to spell, dumbass", "u illiterate fucker", and "well, I'm not dating you for your brains, am I?" I hate humanity. FML

Better to rid yourself of fickle friends now than when it can really hurt you!

Point out to them that it's the correct spelling. I'd like to see their reactions.

im sorry to hear OP, maybe you should post a picture of the book to show everyone that it literally says "Pet Sematary" And you guys should really use Google before calling her stupid or any other mean names.

Don't generalize, and opposites attract themselves. So, you're a smart circled by dumbasses.

This happened to me, directly after reading this FML with my boyfriend. They just have no idea. Read the book, dammit.

The first time I saw the movie, it scared the hell out of me. Stephen King is probably why I don't like scary movies. :/

Good, now you have less time-wasting dumbasses in your life. /grumpy cat

Seriously. I think you should leave them all.

I know it's correct, but I ******* hate that spelling. It should be spelled differently. Rant finished.

I'm going to guess that the backstory is children made that sign, and children tend to misspell things. In the movie, the daughter asks what the sign says, and the mother reads it out and adds something like, "It's spelled wrong but that's what it says".
