Today, I added the wrong reaction to a Facebook post, using the laughing smiley instead of the hug, and only noticed two hours later, when my friend wouldn't talk to me because she thought I like found the fact that her dog died funny. FML

Today, a friend told me over MSN that her father had died. Trying to express some solidarity, I went to send her a tearful smiley. I accidentally sent her the dancing pig animation instead. FML

Today, I texted my friend and asked her what her sad status on Facebook was about. She texted me back, saying her step-mother had passed away. I tried to reply with "awwh" but my phone autocorrected it to "ahaha." FML

Today, on Facebook, I mentioned that I'd just finished reading the novel Pet Sematary. Two hours later, I'd lost two friends and my boyfriend, after they commented "learn to spell, dumbass", "u illiterate fucker", and "well, I'm not dating you for your brains, am I?" I hate humanity. FML

1- Remove the laughing emoji and put the hug emoji. That's easy. 2- Tell/text your friend you are very sorry but you sent the wrong emoji. Tell her you are sorry her dog is dead and you are there if she needs a shoulder to cry. She is grieving, give her some time. If she still does not talk to you after that, forget it. Mistakes happen and if she really wants to end your friendship over an emoji, it's not worth it.
