Pectus excavatum!

Today, while making out with my girlfriend, I got the courage to take off my shirt. I told her in advance that I had a sunken chest and she'd told me it was no big deal. Turns out it was, as she wretched at the sight of it, and then broke up with me. FML

That's tough. Guessing by your FML name, you suffer from some injury or condition? Do you have something like pectus excavatum? Maybe get that looked at. Exercises like push ups and bench presses can give you a bigger and better looking chest. And definitely move on and find someone more accepting.

Ignore the comments about corrective surgeries etc. You don't need to do that. Be proud of who you are and find someone who is.more suited for you and appreciates everything that makes you unique.

Yikes, If it's that bad I'm surprised you haven't just gotten corrective surgery and be done with it.

That is horrible. My son has one also, and it’s very pronounced. And ignore the comments to “just get surgery” and be “done”, that’s asinine. Ironically, my son was a competitive swimmer and was naked from the waist up all the time. People looked and pointed, but he just got used to it. We don’t even see it anymore. He’s in the Navy now and was 1/2 naked all thru his basic training, in the communal showers with his platoon, etc, and no one said a word. He’s 6’ 2” and so handsome, no girl will care. The right girl won’t care in your case either, hang in there.

I’m so sorry you had to deal with this. I’ve suffered from having one my entire life, and I know how self conscious it can make one feel. Surgery is a huge deal, so please don’t listen to those who say it flippantly. It may help to talk to a counselor or therapist about your feelings, because you may have body dysmorphia as a result.

my hubby has marfans syndrome and the sunken chest is a part of it. I love his personal bowl haha. you'll find someone who won't even notice it!
