Today, I was at the mall with my young daughter. I hate pooping in public but I really had to go so I brought her in with me. Thinking we were alone, I started to go and my daughter yelled, "Good job Mommy, you're using the potty like a big girl!" I then heard laughing. FML
Today, I got a new babysitting job. Every time the little girl goes to the bathroom, she screams and cries until I wipe her. She's 7 years old. FML
Today, I realized that my 3 year-old son, who is being potty trained, has better aim standing up to pee than his 30 year-old father. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend of two years has a beautiful daughter. That's cool, except she's one year old. FML
Today, as I waited to fly home, a very attractive woman smiled and gestured towards the seat next to me. However, a hyperactive child and his mother barged past into said empty seats. The woman really hit it off with the guy behind, while I was stuck listening to a kid scream at Angry Birds. FML
Today, my mother stopped speaking to me because I won’t let her babysit anymore. Her idea of babysitting is to sit my daughter alone with a tablet and a pile of sugary junk food for 7 hours straight. FML
Today, a kid on a bike passed me and commented on my "big fat butt." Recognizing him from the neighborhood, I told my husband to go speak to his parents about the inappropriate comment. It turns out his father is the man who yesterday commented on my "big bouncing tits." FML
Today, my 16-year-old daughter handed me the picture she wants TV reports to use if ever she happens to get kidnapped. FML
Today, I witnessed a large woman pee on a pregnancy test in the middle of a Walmart parking lot, clean herself off, then wander around with the test hanging out of her mouth, waiting for her result. Where in the name of Christ do these people come from? FML
Today, an elderly man had to give me money to pay for my grocery bill because my sister broke down crying in the store as I didn't have enough money to pay for both her milkshake and cookies. She's 19. FML

Breastfeeding in public is absolutely fine. Throwing a fit over what someone else does with their own breasts is not okay though. As for the "when they can ask, they're too old" argument-WHO recommends nursing until age two. Most children can ask long before that-many can sign "milk" as infants. Find something important to be outraged about, OP. Or you could try this revolutionary thing-turn your head!

Why do people keep using the "the normal age for weaning is 4-7" argument when the OP explicitly said that the child was 8? If the child was 8 then therefore he is PAST the normal weaning age and he most definitely should not be breastfed anymore.

The kid no longer needs breast milk, it wont hurt him but its more of psychological and emotional dependency on the mothers part, and the child's part, rather than fulfilling any physical needs. I personally think that in a civilized society (where there is adequate access to other safe, nutritious food) theres no need besides codependency to breastfeed beyond 2 years of age, I weaned my kids slightly earlier than that), and even then I had given them bottles of breast milk, rather than breastfeed them).

I don't understand how this is an fml.... She has every right to breastfeed her child as long as she so wishes.
