Today I took my girlfriend to the cafe where we had our first date, with the intention of proposing. Moments before I took the ring out, some sleazy old guy said, "How are you two fine babes single on a Saturday?" He refused to leave us alone, even when we said we were on a date. FML

Today, I was out with my boyfriend, when he started browsing wedding rings. He found a ring, proposed to me right there in front of a crowd, and then was promptly denied a payment plan. We left without a ring. FML

Today, my boyfriend took me on a surprise date to an expensive restaurant. After the meal, he got down on his knee and proposed. We've only been dating for two weeks, so I said no. He just silently kept staring me in the eyes, no matter what I said or did. I ended up having to walk home. FML

Today, I was out on a dinner date when suddenly a girl walks up to us and says to my date, "Girl, you can do so much better." Hearing this, my date looks at me, nods, gets up and walks off. I still had to pay for everything. FML

Today, I was planning to propose to my girlfriend. I got out the ring and… she did the same. Coincidentally, she'd planned to propose to me, so we'd both got rings. Too bad our perfect moment was ruined by the bigot who called us “lezzers” and poured a pitcher of beer over both our heads. FML

Today, I took my girlfriend to a very nice restaurant. I thought it would be a good place to pop the question. I gave the ring to the waiter and asked him to put it on her dessert plate. When she saw it she picked it up, put it down and said "no". Then she started to eat the dessert. FML

Usually if you speak to the manager of an establishment, they'll ask another customer to leave if they are harassing you or making you feel unsafe. I hope you got a good chance to propose even so!

If that ever happens again speak to the manager that you are being harassed. It is the manager's responsibility to see that his guests/customers are comfortable and treated with respect. From the way you describe it, the A-Hole was simply harassing you, probably because he has something against lesbians if he refused to go away after you told him you were on a date. Frankly he should have been shown out if the establishment by the management.

An unfortunately large amount of men always think that they're the exception, and that something about them means that women who aren't into men will- for some reason- be attracted to him. There are also people who legitimately and horrifyingly believe that they can "make" homosexual women straight via rape. Chances are, if he didn't **** off after being told they were on a date, he is at least one of the above.
