To all the ignorant people that say you cannot miss someone you have never met has never met an adopted child. It is the idea of a missed opportunity or meeting someone who is like you. Especially if the father is bad enough to be estranged, having a sister to share the burden with (if Op is an only child or the only girl this would especially be important.) and to talk to. To have someone tell you that there is someone who is amazing, beautiful and is your long lost sibling is a dream many people have. To be like someone, to have a sister or brother who will be their best friend. My mother always says, when your dad and I die you will have your siblings. When everyone else leaves you, they will be there. While this is not true for all family's, the need for validation in a family where the father is an alcoholic and no one truly understands you, Op must have been bursting with joy. (This is speculation) So how could she not have wanted to meet the sister. And then after telling someone that something great is about to happen, the asshole drops, well she is dead. Sorry I never told you sooner. Yea, of course she misses her sister.
