YDI for expecting a handout.
they didn't get rich by giving money away...that's for sure.
Idiot! Use your education and get a job to pay off your student loans like most other people who have them. I think the aunt and uncle were just making it more formal and discreet by using an envelope. That or perhaps they were testing to see your greedy-ass' reaction when you saw it wasn't money. For all you know you're probably not in their will now, depending on your reaction. YDI for thinking that just because they have money means they should chip in for your education. Get a damn job or two and stop expecting handouts--leech!!!
Greedy ****.
Because they presented her with an envelope and said "we hope this helps out with the student loans". The fact that it was in an envelope implies money, doesn't it? I don't really think is an FML though. More of a mild disappointment.
how is this a fml and why does everyone agree it is? they gave you helpful information on how to consolidate and lower payments on a loan. what were you expecting? money? you think you deserve a handout? this "fml" reeks of greed.
What, they have to give u money for that? They were still trying to help u, what right do u have to their money? Expecting money from them is selfish. YDI.

They don't exactly owe you ANYthing, so not really a FML.
classic! just bc u have a rich relative doesnt mean you can expect money from them!
