Today, I had the vasectomy my wife wanted. We're living 700 miles apart due to work, so any immediate benefit is not so immediate. Worse, I didn't even get a good luck message before the premiere of the Nutcracker Prince. Now, time for Netflix and no chill. FML

Um.. there is no immediate benefit. You still need to use protection the first 30 days. There can still be swimmers in the canal and they all need to die off. Also, make VERY sure you get the following counts to make very sure those suckers did not reverse themselves. It's very rare but it does happen.

Do you guys have kids? If yes, you’ll survive. If she can survive nine months of pregnancy and giving birth, you’ll be okay. I’ve assisted with vasectomies so I’m well aware of what’s involved and how simple the procedure is

I'm pretty sure your vasectomy was way less painful than any woman's childbirth. You'll be fine.
