Coming or going

Today, I got a call about a job interview, saying I was hired. I was ecstatic, until they called me back and said they'd called the wrong applicant. They called again later, saying there'd been a mistake and I really was hired. When I went in to confirm it, they said they'd never heard of me. FML

Today, I had an interview for a pretty interesting job. Everything was going smoothly until I referred to their company by the wrong name, not once, but three times. They politely corrected me each time, but I could see the resentment in their eyes, especially because it was the name of their main competitor. I probably won't be getting the job, huh? FML

Sounds like that company needs to get their stuff together. But sorry OP. Hope you find a good job one day.

Heck I would say screw working there! If they are that unorganized you wouldn't want to work there anyways!

On the bright side, now you know where you shouldn't work. Seriously, if they can't keep it together, then you're way better off without them.

With a company that disorganized, I wouldn't expect great things from them.

I need to know the end of the story!!! I can has followup?

I think you dodged a bullet there. Cause if they can't even get their shit together, they don't deserve an employee like you.

Unfortunately, it can be just as ridiculous the other way around. At my first career job, I was hired immediately after the interview. Being young and fresh out of college, I thought I was just lucky, but, as I continued working there, I found out that the director was cripplingly impatient and wouldn't allow much time for any of the programs he had set up for me. As a result, we weren't able to produce positive results for our clients' projects. It turns out, he had hired me at the last minute because I was his only applicant, and he had waited too long to post the job offer. Good thing you were able to see the incompetence with this company before it became a problem.

Call them back and tell them that they forgot to direct deposit your $20,000 check. If they're equally incompetent, you might end up with a nice deposit in your account!
