Today, after my car being in the shop for over a day and with no updates from the dealership, I decided to pay them a visit. The place was almost empty, and they hadn't done any work on my car. But judging by the used condom on my back seat, somebody got their own oil checked. FML

Today, I took my car into the shop to get a minor problem fixed. I left several hours later, without my car. Why? The mechanic crashed it while out on a test drive to make sure he'd fixed the problem. FML
Today, while at work in the service department of a car dealership, I sat in the driver seat of an old man's car to get the mileage. He'd just pissed in the seat. FML
Today, I picked my car up from the shop. After 5 minutes I noticed the oil and check engine light on. I pulled over, then the engine shut off completely. Turns out they forgot to put oil back in my car. I'll be needing a new engine. FML
Today, I dropped my car off at the dealership for a bumper replacement due to a hit and run in a parking lot. After being told it was ready, their shuttle picked me up, and backed up into my just-replaced bumper. FML
Today, my car broke down because someone stuck a dildo in the tail pipe. I'd parked in my driveway. FML
Today, I got my car back from the repair shop. After paying $400 for them to fix the scratches on the driver's side door, some one decided to key both sides of my car while I was on my lunch break from work. FML
Today, my car broke down because it couldn't wait two more days for an oil change. Now it might be FUBAR. FML
Today, being the man of the house, I decided to work on the car. Long story short, there's a towel in my transmission. FML
Today, I bought a used car from a private dealer my parents had recommended. On my way home they called to tell me that their car broke down. They bought it last week from the same guy. FML
Today, I took my car in because of a strange rattling noise. The mechanic charged me nothing, just handed me back my reusable water bottle that had been rolling around under the passenger seat for three months. FML

When the work is done? **** no! I wouldn't leave my car there. I'd take it somewhere else to get it fixed and demand that that shop pay to have my car's interior detailed. That is beyond intolerable.

#9, some mechanics are brilliant, but sadly there are a lot of them out there that will totally rip you off - unnecessary work/parts/overcharging etc and most laypeople can't call them out on it because they don't know enough about cars.

As a mechanic, I have to agree. I get a lot of business simply because I give the customer options based on their budget and if it's not broken and doesn't show signs of breaking anytime soon, I leave that shit alone. Most of my fellow mechanics will scrape out as much as they can which, in the end, leaves them with less money. And never go to a stealership.
