Torture
Today, at my job at the mall, our music malfunctioned and now will only play the same three songs over and over again. Our manager won't let us turn it off because "the customers won't notice". FML

Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, the satellite radio at work went on the fritz, playing one song over and over. Management wouldn't turn it off, though, because then customers would miss out on all those upcoming-sale announcements that run intermittently. Meanwhile, I got to listen to "Footloose" for eight hours. FML
Today, the mall I work at started playing Christmas songs on repeat. It's the beginning of November. FML
Today, my manager made everyone put up Christmas decorations around the store. As well as this, we're going to have Christmas music playing on repeat all the way through to January. It's not even September yet. FML
Today, at my workplace, a TV was installed just above my register at work which plays the same mind-numbingly awful 13 second ad on loop for the duration of our latest sale. The sale lasts for what are going to be three very long weeks. FML
Today, I lost my earbuds on the subway to work, so I had to listen to my boss's terrible music all day. FML
Today, and every day this week, my office mate has decided to "liven up the place" by singing and whistling Christmas tunes and other unknown songs. She has zero musical ability. FML
Today, my boss insisted that we get in the holiday mood by putting up lights, playing Christmas music, and wearing bells on our uniforms. It's not even Thanksgiving yet and I can't even have a tinkle without full-blown jingling. FML
Today, my boss sat me down to discuss the sounds my co-workers have heard coming from my cubicle. Apparently my music sounds like the background tracks from shitty soft-core porn movies. I'm getting a three day suspension while they go through all my files. FML
Today, the Salvation Army stationed one of their obnoxious bell-ringers in the mall right outside my store. My employees and I can wave goodbye to any form of sanity for the next month. FML
Today, at work, I was forced to listen to the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas album on repeat for 8 hours. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

Take your iPod to work and sneak it through your clothes.

An investment in ear plugs or an iPod would be smart.

I agree with #62. It's the difference between "knowing you're shit" and "knowing your shit."

Nothing gets me motivated like a full day of repeating Karma Kameleon, Tub Thumper and Cotton Eye Joe. Have fun with that OP!

One time I was on Atlantic City, and there was a radio station that played nothing but tub thumper. I left it on for over an hour to see if the song would change. It didn't.

Is it bad that I actually liked that ride when I was little? I must be in the minority...

24- It's not the ride that's bad, it's the music that is constantly on repeat. Yes, we understand, the world is indeed small. That's why at my birthday party I will invite about 6 billion of my closest friends and family.

"It's a world of laughter a world of tears; It's a world of hope and a world of fears. There's so much that we share, And it's time we're aware, It's a small world after all!" somehow this song used to be the best song ever. Now it kind of creeps me out.

At the movie theater I used to work at, there was this arcade game that had background music. It played CONSTANTLY. -_- I definitely feel your pain, OP.

Oh the customers notice... Trust me..

As a customer of any store I DO listen to the music in the background. Most of the time it's incredibly annoying or extremely loud for "background" music. I've walked out of more than one store because I couldn't handle it. Tell your manager that customers will eventually start noticing. It might hurt the store in the long run.
