Torture
Today, at my job at the mall, our music malfunctioned and now will only play the same three songs over and over again. Our manager won't let us turn it off because "the customers won't notice". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, the satellite radio at work went on the fritz, playing one song over and over. Management wouldn't turn it off, though, because then customers would miss out on all those upcoming-sale announcements that run intermittently. Meanwhile, I got to listen to "Footloose" for eight hours. FML
Today, the mall I work at started playing Christmas songs on repeat. It's the beginning of November. FML
Today, my manager made everyone put up Christmas decorations around the store. As well as this, we're going to have Christmas music playing on repeat all the way through to January. It's not even September yet. FML
Today, at my workplace, a TV was installed just above my register at work which plays the same mind-numbingly awful 13 second ad on loop for the duration of our latest sale. The sale lasts for what are going to be three very long weeks. FML
Today, I lost my earbuds on the subway to work, so I had to listen to my boss's terrible music all day. FML
Today, and every day this week, my office mate has decided to "liven up the place" by singing and whistling Christmas tunes and other unknown songs. She has zero musical ability. FML
Today, my boss insisted that we get in the holiday mood by putting up lights, playing Christmas music, and wearing bells on our uniforms. It's not even Thanksgiving yet and I can't even have a tinkle without full-blown jingling. FML
Today, my boss sat me down to discuss the sounds my co-workers have heard coming from my cubicle. Apparently my music sounds like the background tracks from shitty soft-core porn movies. I'm getting a three day suspension while they go through all my files. FML
Today, the Salvation Army stationed one of their obnoxious bell-ringers in the mall right outside my store. My employees and I can wave goodbye to any form of sanity for the next month. FML
Today, at work, I was forced to listen to the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas album on repeat for 8 hours. FML

Take your iPod to work and sneak it through your clothes.

The customers will notice! Three songs only last about 15 minutes!

That's the worst! Also the customers will notice. I'd leave a store if the music was annoying me.

I remember once in Sainsbury's they were playing Christmas songs, which was fine. Then the speakers ****** up and there was this horrible crackling noise almost drowning out the songs, and they still insisted on playing the music.

As an employee, it does drive you crazy. I worked at a store where they had a tape that ran in 30 minute loops. It was part music and part spokesperson talking about sales. Hearing that loop about 16 times a day for weeks at a time will drive anyone crazy... Hey, anyone remember the theme from the "nut house" in Redneck Rampage?
