Today, while serving at my restaurant, a mother acted as a wing-woman for her son by insisting I read a note he'd written, asking for my number. I had to awkwardly reject the guy in front of his entire family, before having to keep serving them for another hour. FML

No, this isn't the first time I've had that happen to me. Yes, I responded with something like that. The reason why I mostly posted this FML was because the situation itself with his family and his mother was weird to me. Chill and stop assuming lol..

"Why won't you date my son?" "Uhm, he's 12."

It drives me nuts that people don't realize, servers and bartenders are paid to be nice to you. 99.9% they want nothing to do with you, on any type of level outside of work.

Wow. I'm not a psycho who thinks men should never approach women, but there's a time and a place. Also using his family to put you under pressure and doing it in your work place where you're obligated to be nice is so inappropriate. I realise it's part and parcel, I used to get it working in a department store. But it doesn't make it ok.

How could you resist a man who's mommy has to pass notes for him.

im a waitress myself. I usually just say i cant give out my number because i can get in trouble. or have them give me theirs. chance of them coming back after no calls are rare lol
