If you're seeing someone I'm not sure if that means you are in a relationship or just going through the "talking stage". And if you are just going through the stages before making it official then I do not expect someone to be in love with you or love you. It's nice that he loves you as a person, but clearly it was the wrong time to say that. Maybe he figured he wouldn't get sex after confessing that, which is shitty.
