Today, I drove to a party after getting my car back from the shop. A thunderstorm started as I made my way there and upon arriving, the power went out. The guests decided to watch the storm from the front windows when someone mentioned how funny it would be if a tree fell on my car. Seconds later, one did. FML

Today, during a storm-related power failure, I jerry-rigged an inverter from my car to supply the essentials. In doing so, I managed to blow up the fridge, smoke and all. The power came back on 5 minutes later. FML

Today, the power went out at school. If it's out for more than twenty minutes, standard procedure is to let us go home. They came back on almost nineteen minutes later. FML

Today, my power went out due to a huge snow storm. I was in desperate need of candles and flashlights. I had to walk to the store since the roads were closed. I walked 4 miles in the blizzard. When I got home, the power came back on. FML

Today, I was at my grandparents' house, when the power went out. Even though we were supplied with candles and flashlights, we still had to stumble around in the darkness. They'd left both the candles and flashlights in the pitch black, unnavigable basement. FML

Why is everyone being so harsh? Or could it somehow be that none of you have EVER said something stupid and illogical? Have you always meticulously thought out every word to ensure it made sense and maybe not spoke before you thought? I sometimes speak before I think - and then I realise that, I did say something stupid. It doesn't mean I'm stupid - it just means that I'm a regular person who makes mistakes. I think the same could be said for OP's daughter. (Of course - if this happens regularly...then maybe it's different...)

If this wasn't a reply to my previous post, then please ignore this. But if it was, then I would appreciate it if you didn't go and twist my words just to suit your own purposes. I never said I didn't understand. I may not know much about cars, but I do know that it uses battery as opposed to electricity. I was only saying that sometimes people speak before they think. Or are you just one those people who has never said something stupid or never spoken before you thought?
