Today, a strong storm knocked the power out at our office. I was dismissed five hours early, had my desk locked up and was walking toward the doors to leave when the power came back on. FML

I'm not sure about everywhere, but my dad's work gives the employee for 4 hours after they are sent home due to lack of work or other reasons that aren't the employees fault. If this is the case, he would only be an hour short.

You got a short unscheduled break and spent it thinking about what sort of fun stuff you'd do with the extra 5 hours of leisure time you suddenly had. OK, so when you get off work for real, go do that stuff. Now it's both fun and paid for.
