Today, my sister, who has been seeing a guy for a year, got engaged. I've been dating my boyfriend for over 5 years and let out some not so subtle hints and he basically refused to propose. This is her second marriage in the time of my relationship. FML

OP and OP's fiance could be 13 or 14 which generally makes it /not/ illegal with the close-in-age exceptions that are common in most age-of-consent legislation.

Does he have a younger brother she could hang out with while you're together to get over him? Or does your boyfriend have a friend with a little brother? You could try to help her out by pointing out the fact that you're older and that she met him through you?
