You cannot be physically addicted to weed. You 100% can get mentally addicted to it. I have a friend who smokes weed so much, she doesnt get burnt out anymore. ALSO, she quit smoking for about 5 days and she was so sick. She had the worst headaches and was very tried because the weed wasnt in her system. Your friend is kinda a diick though. So FYL !

There's a lot of people on here who seem to be under the impression that marijuana has no negative side-effects. Marijuana, however, can cause addiction, hallucination, paranoia and some evidence suggest that adolescent usage increases the risk of psychiatric disturbances later on. People who frequently smoke marijuana may also contain respiratory diseases. This being said, there's also positive side-effects to marijuana. These include pain relief, lowered blood pressure and relief of nausea. I don't use pot myself, but I think it should be legal for people above the age of 18. What people chose to do to their own bodies is their own matter - as long as it doesn't effect people around them as well.

all i have to say is that the people who say 'marijuana is a "gateway" drug that leads you to do other drugs' are completely wrong. that's just what you hear in 4th grade when they teach you about drug abuse to scare you; at least in my opinion. case in point, the first drug i ever tried was LSD. i was taking LSD for 2 years before i tried marijuana. so that statement holds no water for me because someone can start with any drug right off the bat. and it helped that LSD was way cheaper then marijuana...$5 for a tab and a 12hour trip compared to $50 an eighth?! no contest. oh yeah, and if anything is a 'gateway drug' it would have to be ALCOHOL!! it's most likely the first thing anyone ever tries; which they get at home, from their parents supply.

Pot isn't as bad as other drugs, but it is a gateway drug. If you use it to "chill out" then you should really look at your life, because you have way to much going on. I will never touch the stuff and I'm a pretty chill person. To #140, it doesn't matter what you 'try first' pot doesn't provide much of a rush so people will go out looking for a bigger rush....hello 'gateway' drug. You're the one rotting your brain away with LSD. I'm happy and really chill...without drugs.
