Today, I got an invitation in the mail for my dad's third wedding. My first name was misspelled on the envelope. FML

I have to wonder, do people just select "ydi" for the hell of it? Even if you have a strange name that his bride wasn't sure how to spell, it still isn't your fault, seeing as you didn't choose it.

Probably because the wife-to-be made the card, chill out.

No he meant it for a different person with a similar name. You weren't invited.

Maybe his fiancee did it and doesn't know how to spell your name. So therefore, not really an FML.

HOW IS THIS IN RESPONSE TO #1s COMMENT!!!!!!!!!! STOP TRYING TO BE FIRST- JUST STOP OMFG

Ok..accidents happen. I really wish these FMLs had a "who cares" button.

its ironic that she mispelled mispell

Actually, 70, it is misspell... not mispell. Because you add "Mis" to it to make it negative. Otherwise it would come out as mis-pell or mi-spell. And "Mi" =/= "Mis". "Pell" =/= "Spell".

why the hell would you say YDI?!?!?!?

So? My dad forgets my age, get over it. They're not perfect.

I forget my own age sometimes. Forgetting your daughter, or even soon-to-be stepdaughter's name is a little FYL.

boo hoo thats not the worst thing that can happen in the world

Yeah. Your future stepmother could have asked your dad not to invite you. Which is what mine did to me. He agreed. My sister is going to be a bridemaid.

Wow #69 that sucks, sorry. FYL

It's his fault for thinking it's an FML, when it clearly isn't. This is the lamest thing I've read. My dad doesn't know my birthday, but I don't complain about it. My sister's name gets misspelled all the time. Not a big deal.

Newsflash; the bride and her family or friends send out the invitations. It sounds like they got it right on the invitation, so boo-hoo-big-friggin-deal...

At least you got invited. My brothers and I didn't even get that courtesy from our father at his 5th wedding.

Probably because by the fifth wedding, everyone just stopped caring.

This really isn't an FML, I'm amazed it got past moderation. Your name was misspelt, big deal! Easy mistake to make, I doubt your father did the envelopes anyway. Really the silliest thing to mope about.

my aunt mispells my name EVERY christmas and EVERY birthday...its sad

Is Miss - spelled not two words? I dont know. It would be funny if you spelled misspelled wrong.
