Today, my brand new iPhone 4 was stolen from my bag. I asked the bartender if anyone had handed it in. I soon found out that while I was talking to her, someone swiped my wallet from the bag too. FML

Today, I got mugged. As the guys who took my purse were about to walk away, my cellphone rang in my pocket. FML
Today, someone stole my iPhone. I used the Find My iPhone app, and located it in the apartment building next to mine. I can hear the ringing sound I've activated, but nobody will answer the door. FML
Today, while on vacation with my family, my mother told me to put my phone in her purse, so it wouldn't get stolen. Someone stole her purse. FML
Today, while I was taking a break at work, someone stole my iPod from my desk. I work in a police station. FML
Today, I had three things stolen: my phone, my iPod, and my girlfriend. All by the same guy. FML
Today, I fell going down the stairs to the subway platform during rush hour. Someone was kind enough to help me up and someone else was kind enough to steal my iPhone which had fallen out of my pocket and landed nearby. FML
Today, I went to evening Mass. I later found that sometime between entering the church and receiving Communion, someone had snatched my iPhone straight out of my handbag. FML
Today, my phone got stolen at church. FML

Always keep your eyes on you purse while you're at a bar.

You should have your purse with you at all times. Never leave it unattended. Unless, it actually was by your side and you were a little too drunk to notice. This is why I never take my purse with me to the club or bar. I grab an I.D and some cash and keep it in my bra.

It might have been right next to her - you don't know that it was unattended. But if that is the case, OP, you need a new bag. Try one with a zipper.

One would have thought that, after just having been the victim of theft (presumably as a result of neglect), you would have been a bit more vigilant to keep it from happening again.

I have so many people that leave their phone and keys on my bar, (as a good faith jester that they're coming back from either the restroom or outside from smoking). Why people don't keep closer tabs on something so important is beyond me. I'd die without my contact information!

This is what I don't understand. Why the hell do people put big ticket items in places that people can easily swipe it when you aren't looking?!?! I always keep things like that on me at all times so things like this don't happen YDI..
