Today, my boyfriend told me to text him when I got home to let him know I'd made it home safe. He said if I didn't, he'd assume that aliens had abducted me and that he'd get a new girlfriend. He was completely serious. FML

If he dumps you for not calling him, then he isn't worth your time. If I were you, I would ask him to 1. be more honest about the reasons he wants me to call him so bad 2. Not to threaten me with abandonment to try and get me to do what he wants. This is how abuse starts, OP. Don't let him control you, that's not healthy.
