Today, my boyfriend and I went shooting. While I was showing him how to properly hold and adjust a rifle, he accidentally pulled the trigger. The gun kicked back and hit me in the face, breaking my nose. FML

Today, I shot my boyfriend in the balls by mistake, twice. First it was a paintball gun I was using with my nephew, then it was a slingshot I use to scare away the bird who keeps eating fish from my pond. He is now sat icing his groin acting like I did it on purpose. FML

Today, I was fooling around with my boyfriend in his room. He grabbed me behind the head to pull me in for a hard, romantic kiss. He accidentally smashed my nose into his cheekbone, and my nose started gushing blood and continued to bleed for over 2 hours. It's broken, and he just laughed. FML

Today, my boyfriend was buying a new hockey stick; to test it out he started hitting a ball around the aisle and decided to shoot it back into its bin. Instead the ball hit me dead in the mouth, giving me a fat lip. Instead of consoling me, my boyfriend yelled "GOAL!" FML

dont put your finger on the trigger until your ready to shoot. first thing you tell him is that its not a video game. you can get killed. there are no respawns in real life.

Why was the safety not on? Also your finger should never be over the trigger unless you are ready to actually fire the weapon. Neither of you should be handling guns unless you get the basic rules of safety down first.

#257 If you question is about the weapon's safety, YOU shouldn't be handling any weapons. One instructs, AKA shows, another with an unloaded and cleared weapon first, then once the student has the action down, does one use a loaded weapon.

I'm from Australia and am amazed by the sheer number of Americans in awe that someone doesn't know how to fire a gun. It's really nothing that unusual here for someone not to know how to shoot. I thought the gun rotting American image was just a stereotype... and all the questions relating to he sex of the person learning and teaching is equally surprising, as I'd that makes any difference.
