Today, my 14-year-old step-daughter announced that she is 4 months pregnant. The father is my 15-year-old son. FML

I don't see a problem, they aren't blood related so it's all good. If I was 15 and my mother dated a guy with a 14 year old that I found attractive there's no problem other than me being young as hell.

You're kidding right? The problem is that they are kids themselves and step siblings.

It's one thing to like your stepbrother and think he's attractive, it's another totally disgusting thing to make a baby with him.

If they were kids, they wouldn't be able to procreate. It's not their fault that today's teenagers are treated like children without any responsibilities.

Yes, you are two separate people, no blood ties, but once you're parents get together, you're still family. If you were dating beforehand that's a whole other messier issue but if not, there's really no excuse to start. But even ignoring that, don't you think the age part is messed up? Even if they WERE somehow as knowedgeable and mature as an adult should be, her body will just not be ready yet. Periods mean you're still on the puberty journey, not that your body is actually ready to have kids. She's in significantly more danger than an older pregnant women.

294 - ability to pro-create means **** all. You know you can get your period at around 8 right? Doesn't make you an adult. In countries where marrying off young girls to older men is commom children frequently die in childbirth because their bodies just aren't ready. As I said before, periods don't mean your bodies done growing. Not to mention the fact that they have little bearing whatsoever on if you're emotionally adult - if anything, having only had your period for a few years or less probably means you AREN'T mature.

And that, kids, is how I met your mother.
