Today, it's my birthday. The present I received from my best friend was the exact same necklace which I gave to her for her birthday two months ago. It had been unwrapped and re-wrapped in the same paper. FML

Today, I took my best friend out to dinner for my birthday. She gave me a gift after I paid the tab saying, "my mom thought you would like this - it was expensive." It was a lovely set of origami paper, which was the exact set I brought her as a souvenir from Japan. She was right, it was expensive. FML

Today, I went to my son's friend's birthday party and felt really proud of giving a great gift. It just so happened that I regifted the same gift that his friend's mother gave to my son the month before because I forgot to check the name on the bag. It looked like she was about to faint. FML

My friends and I used to put a freaky looking toy in random spots to startle eachother, it was quite funny because one of them was a bit terrified of it lol.

I suspect that most of the violent responses on FML are jokes. Otherwise, many people on this site are schadenfreude-addicted psychopaths. OP: at least she re-wrapped it.
