Today, I woke up and decided to make my mom a special Easter breakfast in bed. I pre-heated the oven to bake the sausage just the way she likes. Guess where my easter basket was. FML

Probably because you should always check the oven before you turn it on? That is just common sense, or should be. Especially if you live with other people. I always check, and I am the only one who cooks. Op deserved it.

Why would she leave it in the oven? You're supposed to wake up on Easter morning with the baskets on a table or something of the sort. FYL

You should always check inside before you turn on any appliance. You never know when someone might store an empty pot or pan in the oven, or when a giant moth will commit suicide in the toaster, or when a cat might fall asleep in the dryer. It takes only a second to check. Better safe than sorry.
