Today, I watched my daughter squealing with delight in front of a video game. Beating a boss? Slaying an adversary? Completing a quest? Not at all. She was chasing birds, making them fly away, then starting all over again as soon as they landed. She's 19. FML

if you gamed you would understand that sometimes you're bored and the dumbest thing in the game will occupy you

From an early age my father made deprecating observations like this about me to people in front of me. It led to crippling low self-confidence, a hatred of my dad, and increased escapism to books and video games. Maybe spend time building a relationship with your daughter than rolling your eyes at her might be beneficial.

I think I know what game this is, and chasing birds actually was a quest for it
