ummm. she's pretty much right for the most part. and believe it or not, I watched a news report in Seattle, wa. that concluded that a great deal of homeless either are fake, or are able to beg for an average of around $40k a year, on which they def do not pay taxes. I don't think they deserve any pity.

I can understand why she'd think that, because many people who beg for money really aren't homeless but tend to do this as a "job". When I was younger and living in Mexico I would give money away to homeless all the time, and I was considered poor then. Now, I rarely give money away unless I feel they really need it. I see people with signs claiming to be homeless but are wearing new clothes, have $5+ coffees, dogs with brand new leashes or collars that cost around $30, drinking an alcoholic beverage, smoking, and more. Doesn't mean everyone is like that, but many are.
