Today, I started packing up the flat I have been renting. As I took a picture off the wall I also ripped half the wallpaper. That's my deposit gone. FML

why would a picture rip off the wallpaper with it? that is some pretty cheap flat you're staying in right there.
unless if you glued the picture to the wall, then YDI.

If the wallpaper was ugly or old anyways, you helped the landlord in a way I guess

Well, don't be a tease, tear it all down and out up new wallpaper! Bonus points if you put the same pattern back up-your landlord might actually appreciate it.

Oh trust me, if not that it would have been something. I have never gotten a deposit back. This last place even sent me a bill.

if it was that cheap in the first place, just glue it back on. might not even be noticeable.

Maybe look into 3M command strips the next time you would like to hang pictures on the wall.

If your lease states you can't hang things on the wall, then you definitely deserve it.

Your landlord was going to keep the deposit anyways. At least you got some free wallpaper out of it.

Why is it when you want to remove wallpaper it's a bitch, but when you clearly don't it comes off like a banana peel?!
