in all honesty she should have been more aware of her horse. every rider knows horses can be unpredictable and you have to be prepared at all times and if her horse isnt able to be around noises like that she shouldn't have been riding on the side of the road.

It happens man. My mother has horses and they are supposed to be trained not to respond to noises like that. However, you were given a great opportunity to start up a conversation saying how sorry you were and offer her dinner or something. You never know.
