Today, I saw a YouTube video of a guy scratching a knife and a screwdriver on his iPod, and at the end he showed how there were no scratches and the screen was still clean. I took my iPod touch and did the same with a knife. It didn't work. FML

this might be acceptable if you're 5. MIGHT be. but 1 he was demonstrating a cover (I've seen the same and it works) but 2 who beleives anything on the Internet? I bought the cover so I know everyday scratches will protect it, not intentionally scratching it.

This is a very old and overused trick. He simply took a video of himself scratching up an iPod and then played it backwards, so that the screen was perfect at the "end" (really the beginning) of the video.
