Today, my son was having a hard time mentally, and asked my wife if she loved him as much as she loved her biological children. She straight up told him not to be stupid, because of course she doesn’t love a step-kid as much as she loves her "real kids." FML

Today, I was walking through the store when I saw a little boy point to me and say something to his mom. I was out of earshot at the time, but I got close enough just in time to hear the mom reply, "God says we have to love everyone, even if they're ugly." FML

Today, I was at a restaurant with my kids. I told my 13 year old about how the very first time she said she loved me. She was 2 and it was at this very restaurant. He's a 5 year old, and well, young children tend to say things that are more harsh than what they actually intend to. I'm sure you're really not ugly, but you should think about teaching him to respect people, his elders in particular.

Kids can be dumb - plus they see everyone as ugly, unless you give them candy and paint your face in bright and shiny colours. So I don't see why you should be so upset.
