Today, I woke up at 5:30 and made the half hour drive to work only to find out that it was my day off. After finally getting back home and into bed, my boss called, requesting that I come back to work since I was "already up". FML

Today, it was the first day of fall break from college, and I was really excited to sleep in and relax the entire weekend. Apparently my boss caught wind of my happiness and scheduled me 8am-2pm each day of break, "seeing how I don't have anything else to do." FML

Today, I wasn't sure if I would have to go to work. My mom told me the night before that she would wake me up if I had to. I woke up, and seeing that it was past the time I normally go to work, I happily assumed I got called off. That is, until I got a phone call from my boss asking me why I wasn't there yet. FML

However, as soon as I was on the couch to Netflix and chill with my cat, I got a call from my boss saying I was needed at the office to fix a major issue. I ended up spending the entire day at work and didn't get to enjoy my "day off." FML

Today, after having been off due to the holidays, I awoke to several missed calls and texts from my supervisor asking where I was. Fearing losing my job, I drove the entire 2-hour commute thinking I’d missed a day. I hadn't; he was just trying to get my weekly reports early. FML

Today, I worked 24 hours straight fixing my company's servers. After it was over, I breathed a huge sigh of relief and promptly fell asleep at my desk. My boss found me an hour later, refused to listen to me, and fired me for sleeping on the job. FML

Today, my boss told me that my attitude to work is awesome and that he'd follow my example of coming in half-an-hour early every day from now on. I relish those 30 minutes as the only time I can get work done without him constantly interrupting me. So much for that. FML

when I was a teen, my dad would come into my room, turn on my lights and announce that it was Saturday when I was still asleep. it woke me up, but I just rolled over and dozed off some more.

My dad would just turn the tv on in my room and put it to a reasonable volume to wake me up. Although this was usually on weekdays. OP fyl I wouldn't be surprised if the call on purpose because they were jealous that you weren't coming into work. Some of my friends do that if I'm skipping school to sleep in.

Then that's a whole new problem. Maybe they should post an FML like "For some reason if I wake up for 10 minutes, no matter how sleepy I am, I can't go back to sleep." That's your problem. Not your boss calling you. The boss did that so the guy wouldn't wake up, get ready, drive out there, and then realize he didn't have to come to work. That was a considerate thing to do. When you go to work every single day of every single week for months, it becomes a habit. the boss was looking out for him. and I hate people like you who try to defend stupid ass FMLs with retarded reasoning like "oh, he can't go back to sleep". take some nyquil and go back to sleep. Not that hard. Jesus christ you're stupid.

Nyquill is not designed to just be a sleep aid. And for insomniacs being woken up is extremely bad cause they already have a hard time sleeping. This is a FML cause OP deserved their one day off to sleep in. No where I know of has bosses calling people on their day off to remind them they have the day off.

oh come on everyone, fml isn't a contest to see whose life sucks the most. it's just for shitty everyday moments, and this is a perfect one. it doesn't have to be tragic, in fact i think it's better if it's not- the point of this site is entertainment after all, and it's hard to laugh at "today my whole family died. fml". this is a classic fml- aggravating, slightly ironic, but not the end of the world.
