Today, I got the best grade in class on my economics midterm. Rather than tell me I did a good job, my professor criticized me in front of everyone about how I was working "too hard". FML

And that is the reason why I'll never understand the way school works. P.S., He's probably jealous because he couldn't get those grades himself. Keep it up OP :)

What a jerk, can't accept an over achiever when he sees one ;-)

I wonder if OP left the teachers pet in the dirt so bad the teacher couldn't fudge it.

I'd yet to hear about a teacher complaining to the highest graded student about working too hard....and I though I had heard it all

I love Econ myself and I'm good at it lol. Don't worry about it OP, there are worse things to worry about that studying "too hard" lol.

Some people have the need to put others down. Seeing children with great potential make them think about their own failures. Don't forget the old saying "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach". Many teachers are actually losers with a very mediocre understand of their field of study. This is especially true for fields like economics or computer science where the truly talented people are quickly harvested by large corporations. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all teachers are idiots. There are some truly fantastic teachers out there who teach because they love it. Obviously OP's teacher is not one of them. OP never give up because someone hates your work :) People usually hate something for two reasons. Either it's really bad or it's so good that it's making them feel bad about themselves. "The public is wonderfully tolerant. It forgives everything except genius" - Oscar Wilde )

uh, is the British way of referring to a teacher "professor"? Yea, some teachers aren't so great, but professors in college usually know what they're talking about. They have a masters or phd, so if you wanna call that unsuccessful then go ahead.

Yeah, after all, "those who can't do, teach".

Criticize him, and tell him that he's being a SUPER easy teacher

It's not your fault that your classmates are either slackers or just plain stupid, OP.

The professor is a dick. Pay no attention and continue your efforts.

Messing up the curve for everyone . For shame !

Screw him. What kind of an example is that? How dare you know everything he taught you!

don't ever not work hard for someone else's benefit. good for you. keep up the great work.

Haters gonna hate. Do your thing OP.

Stop working so hard! Making slackers like me look bad!! Jeez.

All your hard work is going to pay off and you'll go places while he remains a shitty professor. Just forget him, he obviously has his panties in a bunch :P
