Today, I found out my grandmother passed away. When I told my boyfriend I began to cry. Instead of caring, he said "you're getting my bed wet," rolled over, and fell asleep. FML

Today, I called my boyfriend to have a shoulder to cry on because my grandpa died. As soon as I told him, he started crying and telling me how much he missed his grandmother, who died six years ago. I spent the majority of the phone call listening to him wail. FML

Today, after holing myself up in my room for the day, I eventually turned my phone back on and told my girlfriend that my grandma passed away today. She replied, "Ask me if I fucking care," then accused me of not caring about our relationship because I went offline all day. FML

Today, after months of taking care of my grandma after a surgery, the doctors gave her a clean bill of health and I finally got to sleep in my own bed. She passed away while I was at home. FML

Today, my grandma, who was placed in a hospice a few months ago, started to decline in health and passed away, The day before she died I thought my girlfriend was so sweet because she took a leading role in her care, just to find out she didn’t care about her at all. It was just an act to steal her pain medication. FML

I'm very sorry for your loss. If you believe in the heaven business, I'm hopeful for you that she's there. If not, I hope she lived life to the fullest and got to spend some decent time with you beforehand. As for your boyfriend: you tell that boy that last time you checked, a boyfriend was supposed to be a shoulder to cry on and confide in with everything. Then remind him that since he obviously has a skewed definition of what's expected of him, you'd rather be with someone that won't make you feel even more like shit. And proceed to never speak to him again.

there's a moment for everything. let the man sleep and talk to him about it in the morning. if he's truly a douche, you'll find out one way or another-- but waking someone up in the middle of the night will surely piss them off. Pick your moments. people like the OP just need to be more self-assured and less reliant on others.
