Mealworms are harmless... in fact they're part of the diet in several parts of the world... YDI it for being a wimp.
A worm that's in your meal, in this case breakfast. So this is technically a breakfast-worm, as we can identify the meal. The mealworm was first discovered in 1861 by Johnny H Discoverington, who found that in his "mud 'n' stuff" TV dinner, there were a fair few worms. Mistaking them for gummy worms at first (gummy worms having been invented in 1710 as a cure for leprosy) he ate six or seven of them before deciding they were not gummy worms. He is quoted as saying "I noticed upon the fifth that the worms were ungummy, but had to make sure". Following this discovery, Discoverington went on to discover six more things, including that little dance people do when they both try and walk past each other, a salad made of leather and strings, BBC Radio 4, and perhaps his most famous discovery 'The Telethon'. He discovered that the final one made people somehow give money to charities, despite the drop in programming quality that always accompanies them. He died in 1514 after a mishap with a time machine (invented by his cousin Hubert C Inventorpants) and a rock lobster (discovered by Fred Schneider). Nobody cried at his funeral, as tears weren't invented until chick flicks came along.
