This sounds like my life exactly. However, I don't mind giving her money because she always gave me money when I was growing up. Yup, money, food, and beatings.

Be glad of that, my mom talks to me everyday, many times, and its not new stuff she talks about. And its not becouse she has bad memory, she just like to talk alot.

Geez :/ My mom and I talk pretty much every day. It's because we enjoy each other, though. Even when I was living in the same city, working at the same hospital, and even working in the same department, we used to have lunch together and still called each other later in the evening to talk more, lol. It's ok to have a good relationship with your mom! Then again, we do always find something new to talk about, and my mom is seriously one of the most amazing and hilarious people I know :D

Who cares what she is spending the money on? That isn't the point of this post. OP: If the only time she ever talks to you is to mooch, tell her the ATM is shutting down until she decides to be a mother first. it's all well and good to help her out, especially these days, but that should not be her only reason for contacting you. Lay that guilt trip on her and if she is any kind of decent human being, she'll at least attempt to make it up to you. If not, she doesn't deserve to call herself a mother.
