Question is now, why are you dating him? I'm sorry OP but dump the jerk and find someone who deserves you. Life is way to short to settle for someone like that. You deserve sooooooooooo much better. Someone who will love you for not just you great points but your flaws also. Someone that when asked your question will answer "Because I can't even imagine my life without you in it. Why shouldn't she ask that question? She obviously expects a good answer, she wouldn't ask that question had she known the answer would be something she wouldn't like.

No clue why people ask these questions all the time. Unless you have a legitimate self-esteem issue (which, in that case, I retract my soon-to-be YDI vote), then: a. You're fishing for a compliment b. You think your boyfriend has ulterior motives for dating you c. You're testing him, pointlessly d. All of the above Of course, he's a bit of a dick for saying that to you, but it's hard to tell if he's kidding based on a 300 character description. Me and my wife say that sort of stuff in jest sometimes. Not frequently, but sometimes.
