Today, for our anniversary, I had made a small treasure hunt for my boyfriend, tying roses with notes of poetry to lampposts across campus to lead him to where we would have a romantic dinner. He couldn't find it because people had stolen the roses, or simply ripped them to pieces and thrown them away. FML

Wow people are such assholes. That was a great idea, I'm sorry it got ruined OP

Which group are bigger assholes: 1. Cats 2. College students Please discuss...

Cats who are also going to college perhaps?

Those romantic moments that you see in movies only exist because of areas blocked off to the public. Also crew to stand guard. Next time maybe recruit some friends.

I've never understood celebrating "anniversaries" when you're not married. Especially when you're still in school!

Why not? It's still another year in a relationship, that's something to celebrate.

35- It's a good excuse to celebrate! Plus, as 40 has said, being in a happy relationship for a year, 2 years, 3 years etc. is something worth celebrating no matter how old you are nor whether or not you're married.

I know plenty of people who have been together way longer than I have with the person I'm married to! It doesn't mean their milestones aren't as valid just because they haven't put the same label on it. Plus we celebrate our dating anniversary and our engagement anniversary because any excuse to celebrate is a good one :)

Happy anniversary! Maybe a different format will be better maybe like a note that is incrypted that he will have to figure out for the dinner

What did you think would happen?...

Thank you though you've given me an idea for her birthday

My town once had flowers tied to lampposts with notes telling people to take one and give to someone they loved, maybe people just figured since they were in a public place they were for the public.
