I can understand getting upset in a situation like this. However, crying about it for an extended period of time is a bit excessive. It sucks, but things like this happen :/

#9 Agreed, but also she's not thinking about how she's making OP feel, as he was driving. He couldn't avoid hitting the bird and on top of that he's being made to feel like he caused her sadness as well.

#21 I'm not saying I disagree with you; I did assume myself that the wife was feeling particularly hormonal when this happened due to her excessive reaction. But I just don't understand why people say "it's okay I'm a girl" or whatever when talking about another woman. Girls have the same exact ability to be sexist/degrading towards the female sex as boys do. Saying you're a girl doesn't excuse or justify sexism. Again, I'm not saying your viewpoint was sexist, but this was more just towards why people justify themselves with "I'm a girl so it's okay."
