Time for a conversation

Today, after spending a great day with my nieces, I turned to my husband to ask him if maybe we should start trying to get pregnant like we both agreed we wanted to multiple times. Before the words even left my mouth he said, “God they were exhausting, thank God were not having kids.” FML
I agree, your life sucks 820
You deserved it 247

It’s possible he meant “not having kids right now” and that he’s planning to wait and enjoy the DINK lifestyle a little bit longer before having them. Or he might have genuinely changed his mind at some point, who knows. Either way though, you need to discuss this with him so you’re both on the same page. If he *has* changed his mind, kids or no kids is a dealbreaker issue, and it’s best to find out sooner rather than later.

I'm sorry he dropped this on you so suddenly, OP. If no kids is a deal breaker and his mind is made up, there's no point delaying divorcing him.

It's funny that he invokes God's name in every sentence but doesn't want to "be fruitful and multiply." Isn't that special?

Look, as a guy I can tell you this: Just after a day with some unruly kids is the wrong time to ask him stuff like that. At that moment, the idea of kids scare him. However, there may be some other situation that triggers his fatherhood instincts and in that moment he will feel very different. You need to play this game with your head, not your heart.
