The road to hell, good intentions, all that jazz

Today, in the process of leaning over the sink to close the drain so my diamond earrings wouldn't fall in as I put them on, I dropped my diamond earring down the drain. FML

you can open up the pipes to extract it, I've done that before to save a bracelet.

Why would you hold the earring as you went to close the drain?

shit find a wrench and get at it. worth the yuck if the diamond earing meant something

If you're lucky it may be stuck in the pipe trap / u- bend. They're fairly easy to open.

You should throw the other diamond earring down the drain, too. You wouldn't want to break up the set of diamond earrings! After you lose them, maybe you won't be so annoyingly boastful that your earrings are diamond -- we get it: you're rich or pretending to be so.

Here's a thought. Don't lean over a sink while putting on earrings. ydi

If you were going to do that why not cover the drain

If you don’t know how to open the pipe it is fairly easy to remove the plug and they make little grabbers at like Lowe’s they are called mechanical pick up tools they are like $10 I used it for a screw I dropped down the sink

This is why I put my earrings in in the bedroom where there is no sink. You can get a mirror in there too, you know.
