Today, I told my boyfriend that I loved him for the first time. The L-word is probably one of the only things I'm scared to say, so what did he do? He stared at me blankly before making a farting noise with his mouth and asking if he could go get Chicken Express for dinner. FML

Today, my boyfriend told me he loves me. Instead of saying it back, I had a panic attack. FML
Today, I spontaneously poured my heart out for my boyfriend, telling him how much I love and adore him. He answered by leaning in close, saying, "Jolly good" in an affected accent, and burping loud and clear in my ear. FML
Today, my boyfriend of three years proposed to me. He brought me to our favorite restaurant and ordered expensive champagne. It was all very romantic, until he got on one knee and I farted out of surprise. Loudly. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend that I love him. He responded with, "That's nice. You know what I love? Chicken wings. Let's go get some." Apparently, he doesn't remember I'm a vegetarian either. FML
Today, while eating dinner with my boyfriend, I look up to see him staring at me, smiling. Hoping he wanted to say how lucky of a man he was who loved me deeply, I asked him what he was thinking. He replied, "You can't smell that yet? It was a noxious one." FML
Today, my boyfriend of over a year finally told me he loved me. This revelation was quickly followed by "at least, I think this is how people feel when they say that." FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me. While getting down on one knee, he farted. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me that he loved me for the first time in a way I'll never forget. In fact, his exact words were, "You're not the only one that I love." FML
Today, my boyfriend of six months said he wanted to take our relationship one step further. I thought he was going to ask me to move in. He meant he wanted to fart in front of me. FML
Today, I worked up the courage to tell my girlfriend that I love her. She made a face like she'd just sucked on a lemon and said, "Um... yay, I guess...?" and awkwardly left the room. FML

It's not over just cause of that... It's pathetic that people can quit that easily in a relationship cause of one imperfection or a bump in the road. Was it an ideal response no, but doesn't mean you give up on him, otherwise there was no reason to say she loved him in the first place.

Sure, you can say this too soon in a relationship... but his response was very, very disrespectful. I don't know how old you are, but if someone is that immature, he's not ready for a serious relationship. If you want a real, mutual, loving, grown-up kind of relationship, you need to look elsewhere. Being in love alone sucks. The best thing to do is start dating other people casually. Seriously, I know from years of experience.

Agreed, being ready is one thing but a lot of misunderstandings from how it was said. If he said nothing or just said it was too soon for him to say, but he appreciated it. I doubt the OP would be as upset if he had done that. The immature dismissal of her feelings is what stings for her the most.
