Today, it was my birthday and everyone in the office chipped in to buy me a card, and nothing but a card. It had a pre-written message on it and a space to write "Love, *insert name*" where everyone signed their names. The "Love" was crossed out and replaced with "From". FML

they may have actually been trying to be respectful to the people who were signing it and/or complying with company policies

Haha some idiot went out and bought the card. Then the person who was actually behind it freaked and probably had to fix it.

"A card, and nothing but a card"? I've never worked in a place where co-workers chip in for a card for each person's birthday, nevermind a gift. What are you whining about? Get some friends outside work

love is a very personal word, I would feel comfterable saying it to a coworker either, YDI if your that stupid

Wow! YDI! For being so ungrateful.... Have you ever thought they didn't even have to in the first place? The only way this could be an FYL is if you bought them presents and such for their birthdays but even then to expect something in return is just selfish. So get your head out your ass!!!!

At least they got you something.. Unthankful kids these days..

At least they actually GOT YOU SOMETHING

They probably don't know you well so love is a weird word to say.

so what. you were expecting a huge gift? get over yourself
