For all you know she doesn't care if the OP is in the kids life or not, but she's a good person and felt that he should at least know that he does have a kid, and he can decide if he wants to be a part of it's life. Guys in OP's situation have basically no rights or options. If she doesn't want to abort or give the baby up for adoption, he's SOL. In many places, even legally signing over all parental rights wouldn't get him out of paying child support for the next few decades. Likewise, if she wanted to abort and he wanted to raise the child himself, he'd also be screwed. Situations like these make me seriously wonder why guys aren't clamoring for both more male-controlled contraceptive options, and more prenatal fatherhood rights. Not trying to start a woman's rights debate, just sayin'.

That's a very sweeping statement, sweetcheeksjvl. Not every woman who has an abortion has it because they "didn't expect it" or "it's too much", some have it for medical reasons or for more personal reasons, such as the fact that they might have been raped, or various other reasons. It's unfair to judge everyone without knowing their exact reasons. I don't believe abortion should be used as an alternative form of contraception, but I do believe that people have the choice of deciding if they should use it or not. Rather than having other people decide for them, there are week limits placed upon it already.
